Roles & Capabilities

ForumWP registers 4 user roles once activated, and grants additional capabilities to the WP native Administrator, Editor, Author, Contributor, Subscriber:

Forum Manager role

Forum Manager is a role you can give someone to manage the forums without making them an admin. They have all the rights a customer has, and are granted the main capabilities:

manage_fmwp_forums and manage_fmwp_forums_all - gives forum managers the option to manage Forums post type. Add, Edit, or Remove them.
Can see a wp-admin menu with all ForumWP posts and manage them.
Can manage Forum Categories and Topic Tags.
Can post forums via front-end
Can see reports information and remove reports
Can post topics/replies and edit their own topics/replies
Can edit their own profile information

They also have general WordPress editor capabilities.

Moderator role

Moderator is a role you can give someone to manage the topics/replies without making them an admin. They have all the rights a customer has, and are granted the main capabilities:

manage_fmwp_topics and manage_fmwp_topics_all - gives moderators the option to manage Topics/Replies post types. Add, Edit, or Remove them.
Can see a wp-admin menu with topics and replies to manage them.
Can manage Topic Tags.
Can see reports information and remove reports
Can post topics/replies and edit their own topics/replies
Can edit their own profile information

They also have general WordPress editor capabilities.

Participant role

Have read access only for most capacities. This is the equivalent status to WP native "Subscriber" in WP default install.
Can post topics/replies and edit their own topics/replies
Can edit their own profile information

Spectator role

Have read access only for most capacities. This is the equivalent status to WP native "Subscriber" in WP default install.
Can edit their own profile information

If you wish to modify roles and capabilities, use a third-party plugin such as User Role Editor.
